TITLE: The Flail of Edward NAME: Daniel Pepin COUNTRY: United States EMAIL: doubleraven@pepinhome.org WEBPAGE: N/A TOPIC: Museum COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: dpflail.jpg RENDERER USED: Bryce 5 TOOLS USED: Rhino 2, Bryce 5 RENDER TIME: Unknown - around 3 minutes HARDWARE USED: P4 2.8, 1 GB RAM, Onboard Graphics IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This is my second entry in the IRTC. I have been messing around with graphics for almost 3 months now, so be gentle :) A small portion of a exhibit, featuring weapons of famous conquerors, kings, etc. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The flail head started out as a sphere in Rhino, with the spikes added. The handle was revolved from a curve. The chain links were piped from a curve. The display case and glass were just boxes, with the glass highly transparent. You can see a thin velvet rope around the display. Although it doesn't show well, the sign on the front is 3D, with 3D letters on mounted on it. In Bryce, I added textures, walls, and lights. I had alot of difficulty finding walls and floors that didn't overly clash and that didn't look identical. Then after I found that, I found they didn't work well for lighting....
