JPGFILE: flower.jpg RENDERER USED: PovRay 3.5 TOOLS USED: * Wings3d modeler (for the flower and the fence) * Makesnow macro by G.Tran (http://www.oyonale.com) * Arabaro to make the trees (http://arbaro.sourceforge.net/) RENDER TIME: Parsing ~ 1H Rendering ~1H30 at 600x800 HARDWARE USED: Pentium 4 at 2.4GHz, 512Mo of Ram IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The goal was to mix realistic render with the cel-shading look, and The topic was quite fine for this. I hope the picture is self-explanatory enough ! DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The code is currently too messy to be included. Send me an email if you want it. -The cel-shading look for the flower was done using the slope pattern : one texture with flat colors (brilliance at 0), and another one on top of the first one with the camera direction as reference for the slope pattern to make the black contours. -The whole ground, including the road, was made using a blob with ~20000 spheres. As the render time was too big with this blob, I have made a height-field from it (separate image of the blob made with an orthographic camera), which is much quicker to render. -The trees were made using the Arbaro software. The bark texture was inspired from the one by Tom Melly found on the PovRay Wiki. -The snow on the trees and the fence was made with the Makesnow macro of G.Tran (this takes most of the parsing time). -Wings3d was used to model the flower and the fence.
