So many things in the word today have been shifted around that that what might previously have seemed anachronistic or incongruous is now commonplace. I saw a film recently that was made in Outer Mongolia, a place that was once code for "as far from civilisation as you can get". There in a semidesert, surrounded by goats and camels, was a yurt. Next to the yurt was a satellite dish. My image places something as far "out of place" as I could place it. I have no idea what sort of kink in space-time could put an abandoned 1930s general store onto the moon in the 21st century. However, there it is. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This image is all new for this round. Except for the Earth it is all simple CSG, hand coded in Povray. The Earth was scanned from an Apollo photo. The moon hills are a blob. The moon-lander, the astronaut and the old building are generic and not supposed to be accurate models of anything. The bowser ( petrol pump ) is a fairly accurate model of an existing 1930s petrol pump. After thinking about it, I didn't put any stars in the sky, but left it black as in the Apollo photos. The textures are standard Povray. I have not attached the pov file, mainly because most of the IRTC entries are technically advanced well beyond my standard. If there is anyone who feels that they could learn anything from it, I'll send it to them.
