===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: When I first looked at this image I had to check the artist wasn't Gilles Tran, not sure why but really feels like his kind of style. I definitely mean that as a complement. Though the concept is a lot simpler than he usually does. Really nice use of colour. The only problem is that the view outside the window just looks like a blurry photo or hand-drawn image, it's not obvious that you've actually modelled all that stuff, but of course if you used less blur it wouldn't have as much speed so it's an inherent problem. ===== From barclay@fleet54.com: Great work! The only thing that doesn't look right is the left edge of the newspaper that seems to be cut off. ===== From zekaric@yahoo.ca: Nice work on the modelling. The lighting is pretty good as well. ===== From p.gibellini@teinos.com: Notable for lighting. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Good modeling, although things are a bit too tidy for a typical subway = (especially in New York!). Things like dirt and dust, the sheen of wear = and tear, damage and vandalism, litter (ok, you added one or two = neatly-placed cups), and signs of maintenance repairs are all important = to creating a sense of deep realism in a scene like this. Tiny details = like emergency-stop buttons, screw heads and various handles too. The words "DAY" and "Museum of Modern Art" stand out a little bit too = much, and unintentionally sway the theme of the image. Nice try on the clothing, but it still looks like melted rubber. Skin = texture is oversaturated on top and needs subsurface scattering effects. = Otherwise, good modeling on the man and his newspaper. Outstanding lighting, the environment here looks totally real. The more I look through the window at the scene outside, the more = interesting it becomes. At first it was a blur to ignore. Later, the = outside elements resolve into something recognizable. Then the sense of = speed becomes reinforced. I can almost hear the whooosh of air and feel = a slight rocking motion. Very well done indeed. Great work Michael.
