A Star Wars spin on the old childrens' fairy tale.


DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


Since this is my first "real" render, it took much longer than I would have
liked- but it was still fun exploring the possibilities, and playing with the
various settings.

All the textures are my own work. I used movie stills as basis, and made the
textures first in Inkscape for scalability, and then in Gimp for other effects.
The textures in this image were:
Imperial Guard Helmet color map
Computer Console Face(s) color map
Interrogator Droid color map
R2D2 color and bump maps
Wall color maps
I also used a few 10x10 pixel solid color PNGs for some surfaces. black, blue,
grey...

R2D2, the red Imperial Guard, computer console, and walls were created in
Blender, exported as OBJ objects, and imported into Poseray.

The interrogator droid was made using Bishop3D.

The two main figures are Michael 3 figures, distorted in DAZ Studio and Poser.
The Emperor was made by applying extreme settings on the various body morph
settings (++emaciated, --young, --tone, etc.). The alien tailor has mostly head
morphs, and doesn't stray much from the normal humanoid body form. The tailor's
clothes are the vest, pants and haversack from the package "The Scout for M3"
from www.daz3d.com

The lens flare is NOT post-produciton, and it was not my own programming
creation. The author of this brilliant piece of code is Chris Colefax from
Australia. I omit his e-mail (for spamming reasons), but his website is

One thing I discovered right near the end- the lens flare macro effect would
disappear when the Focal Blur for the camera was activated. So, the choice easy
for me- I wanted the lens flare!
