TITLE: Vorlon in Babylon 5 NAME: Markus Neubauer COUNTRY: Austria EMAIL: neubsi@geocities.com WEBPAGE: http://neubsi.home.pages.de TOPIC: Transportation COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. MPGFILE: neubsi00.mpg ZIPFILE: neubsi00.zip RENDERER USED: Lightwave 5.5 TOOLS USED: AVI2MPG1 CREATION TIME: 41 days HARDWARE USED: 200 MHz Pentium MMX ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: This animation shows a Vorlon-ship flying into Babylon 5_s docking-bay. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I created the Babylon 5-Station using Lightwave_s Modeler and Acad with ACIS. The hardest work was the proportion of the station, I had to view many series of B5 to get it right. All the objects were made in Acad and edited in Lightwave Modeler for texturing and some finetune. Some textures were included in Lightwave, but I changed them a little in Photoshop. The Vorlon-Ship was very easy to create, because it is so symetrical, the tentacles were extruded in Acad and used in Modeler. The texture of the Vorlon is Fractal-Noise, a standard procedural texture in Lightwave, looks very similar to the series, isn_t it? I am no expert but I like 3d-animation very much. VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: ActiveMovie for Windows 95/NT works well
