The Gray Goo syndrome. Nice idea. Some more work on backgrounds (e.g. stars)
would help. It would have been nice to see the "original" mycorum visibly
reduplicating a few times in the tv screen segment. The population numbers were
too dim and thus easy to overlook. I like the multicolored blobby molecule.
Sort of intermediate between a "realistic" image and a standard molecular
model. The building needed some neighbors or at least cars in the parking lot.
Another level or two between the building and the planet would also have been
nice.

Hmm.. Another "uncontrolled science destroys the world" story eh? Sounds
interesting. Nice use of blobs.

I thought this one had the cleverest theme behind it. Artistic
improvements would lead to a better overall score. Specifically, if there
was more in the field than just the one building, this would have been
much better. (vansickl@erols.com)

Reading your image description lowers your score. I expected it to be about something that creates ooze, not "make more copies of itself".
A much better application of this theme would be little machines cutting off pieces of the big machine for raw materials to make micro machines.

You sell yourself short! This is an excellent animation --
very powerful concept-wise, and sobering. Some of the growth
seems to have a bit of a problem, with blobs appearing out of nowhere
rather than growing off the primary mass. But the finish, with
the Earth being quickly consumed, is quite powerfully done. Okay,
so it isn't of the class of a contest winner, but a very nice
piece of work, nevertheless!

After 17.8 seconds I get an error message saying "bad MPG?", I hope that's at
the end of the animation. I'd like some more flowing appearance of the mycora
as it comes out of the containerm instead of just having it sort of pop up here
and there, but I don't have an idea on how one could make something like that,
unfortunately.
