Some info on the characters: -The demon- Zulag, High demon of Thur, This creature is a high ranked demon in the armies of The Thur. Born from the circle gods this demon was one of the first to construct an earthly form, a body. It raged through the forests of old and became a serious threat to the pioniers. (The existance of this creature is strongly doubted) -The Dark Knight- Oberon of the Dark Knight Guard of Deldorad, He commanded the Dark Knights at the battle of Alkmaar where his comrades perished. After this he was often seen wandering around on Alkmarian burial grounds. Being the last of the Dark Knights Oberon left this world when he encountered the demon Zulag in its underground lair. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED : The scene is modelled using 3dstudiomax and took about two weeks to complete. The knight consists of 158,347 faces and took four days to model. also submitted a still from this model to the still contest, topic History because I couldn't wait to submit to a contest. I was actually building this model for the Animation contest, topic Creatures. The demon consists of over 125,000 faces and has over 60 MB texture mapped onto it. Take note where the horns on the side of the face pierce through the skin. When both models join eachother in one scene my PC takes over 10 minutes to render one frame. The background has about 15 MB of maps combined to create the waterstained look. I used 4 lights differently set up for each shot to get the right lightning on each model. The demon is animated using both charactersudio and bones so it can pull of about any face or pose. I also built the skulls hangin from the knights belt and axe especially for this animation so that they would look really evil. The shots are edited using Adobe Premiere.
