TITLE: Intimidation COUNTRY: Canada WEBPAGE: http://bucci.worldy.com/ RENDERER USED: trueSpace 3.2 TOOLS USED: trueSpace 3.2, Avi2Mpg1 for .mpg conversion CREATION TIME: Render Time: 20 hours approximately Conversion Time: 5 minutes HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 300 mhz, w/256 mb ram. VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: Windows Media Player works great, as does ATI Player. ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: This animation shows two very deadly creatures trying to intimidate eachother before a fight. The Gila monster (lizard on the right side of the screen) flares its brutal teeth, and chomps at the scorpion (anarchid on the left of the screen). During this, the scorpion is trying to scare the Gila Monster by lashing its tail, and pumping its pincers. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: Both of the creature models you see here took me a very long time and are very complex. This would never have been possible without the help of Darris Dobbs and his creature tips and tutorials. I used the traditional forward kinematics technique to animate the two creatures. The reason that this animation is somewhat short is because of the humongous amount of time it takes to render. The reason it takes so long is because the creatures are heavily (and I mean heavily) detailed, and detail means more polygons for the renderer to cope with. I do beleive, though, that in order for an animation to be good, and to inspire people, the subjects in the animation must be 'beleivable' 3D models, and not detail-lacking 'plastic' creatures.
