===== From vansickl@erols.com: The artistry was okay, except for the unrealistic flames and explosions. I could not understand how the topic was being interpreted, and the Biblical quote at the beginning had *nothing* to do with the animation. vansickl@erols.com ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: OK, I'll start commenting with this submission. I like the amount of work put into this, the general ambiance is pretty well rendered. The fire columns are OK except there is one detail that makes them look a bit fake : the tip of the columns looks like it is clipped. It would be nicer to see the tip of the fire fade out. The general camera palcements and object movements are well scripted, but the transition from one to the next looks mechanical. It would be much nicer to see smooth transitions. I don't know how well up you are in maths, but if you know about derivatives, I would say try to keep the second and even third derivatives to a minimum, though you can make them big for special effects but nevertheless keep them continuous. If you're not well up in maths the above just means that natural movements do not like sudden changes of speed (except when objects colide). Now to the topic : I don't think the subject was revenge, but decay. In your submission decay has already happened, it is not strictly speaking the focus of your animation. ===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: Kind of makes my Cyrix 233 at home seem insufficient...Oh yea, it is! Good story line. Pretty well blew the whole theory that "revenge is a dish best served cold." A little jerky on the camera direction changes. Great flames. Can't help you with the black hole. Best this round. ===== From file: Very surreal. Nice textures and lighting, enhancing the effect. The camera movement is distracting. I understand that the viewer is supposed to be the ghost of the king, but that doesn't help any. More traditional cinematography would've opened up several excellent alternatives. Perhaps switching to the king's view from time to time, with a wide-angle. Also, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. What's the metaphor? Notable for originality, textures, lighting
