===== From brendthess@attbi.com: Excellent story! I love it! I relly like the use of 'misunderstood perspective' for this. ===== From evilsnack@hotmail.com: The neighborhood could have been more interesting. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: This is a good combination of the theme with a fun ending. I was impressed by the way the smoke and the burning was done, but the final scene with the houses was a bit disappointing, more detail would have greatly benefited the animation. ===== From socrates1999@yahoo.com: I was impressed the whole way up until the meteor met the planet, and all i could say was ugh. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: That's funny! :D Looks really good, too. The textures of the houses (and hills) could use some more work, though. ===== From martin@simaltech.com: Fantastic! Great implementation of the theme, and a good surprise ending. The space segment is great - the roughness of the meteorite is right on and the earth's surface and atmosphere are convincing. I find the "smoke" distracting and unrealistic, but the fire is excellent! Good improvisation! You're sure to show, though you also deserve a technical award. ===== From emperorofrome@yahoo.com: very good, but the smoke need to be more realistic . great globe and control of the camera ===== From mmdoogie@ardmore.net: awesome meteor approach... iamge how completely awesome this animation would have been had their been time to make the second scene as realistic. ===== From chris_darcy_irtc@yahoo.com.au: Great story. Excellent graphics_ until the houses. The contrast between the two made them stand out. Keep up the good work. Look forward to you next. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Very nice, especially the meteor's movement and trail details. Cute/funny "story" as well. The houses seemed overly simplistic (especially compared to the nice looking meteor and planet), though. ===== From kharrima@pcc.edu: The little meteor that couldn't -- what a marvelous concept, many thanks for the animation, Kathleen ===== From llama009@hotmail.com: cool ===== From jonathan@scudder.no: Great start, first shot is very nice. Smoke works well, and very nice introduction of flame. A bit more work on the houses would have improved the animation. Nice twist at the end ;-) ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: Ok, the 2nd scene caught me by surprise, you'll definitely earn some points for that. :-) All in all, it's a nice animation. I think you could've enhanced it a lot by making the scene 1 camera run more dynamic. Now it looks like a camera is following a rolling football with a peculiar texture. You could've had some nice ApproachCam-drives with the meteor whizzing by. Looking forward to your next attempt! ===== From angelsdie2@aol.com: Well, before I read your comments I was going to comment on the fact that the smoke could have been less solid (ie more transparent) but after seeing how you did it and being fairly impressed, I'll not mention it. I really don't like the houses but I'm sure that was a time issue. Somehow I don't like the one brick house being up close and the others being cartoonish with just white walls... maybe some texture work would help but then the models would prolly have to be changed so yeah... good work! ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The smoke and flame do look very good. I would never have guessed that they were so simple. For the scene where the meteor is entering the atmosphere, I feel that the meteor shouldn't really be visible - it should be completely covered by flames. The houses in the background could also use some more work, but that's because you didn't have time. The final bouncing looks very realistic. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: That was cute. the smoke and flames were great. I can't figure out why it was smoking before it hit Earth's atmosphere though. :) ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: I laughed out loud at the end. You had me completely duped! "Huge meteor" indeed. Very nice clean animation. Simple, yet carefully constructed. Wish the houses were built with more variety and detail. One of my favorites. ===== From irtc_mail@yahoo.co.uk: The first scene looks like something out of NASA, but the second scene looks like a childs colouring book. The ending does not fit in with the topic as it makes the whole sequence be about a lack of force. I think it would be better to stay in space for the ending. ===== From r@ool-182deef3.dyn.optonline.net: The fire in the first clip is very good, especially the transition from smoke to fire. Notable for textures ===== From r@asc104.cybrzn.com: Very good point of view and an amazing ending. Notable for originality ===== From r@adsl-65-64-194-217.dsl.rcsntx.swbell.net: Story and composition are very good. But what about the second scene? Notable for textures, originality ===== From r@dsl-200-67-236-202.prodigy.net.mx: Notable for textures ===== From r@adsl-157-198-97.dab.bellsouth.net: Most people would have destroyed the world or something like that. I like it bouncing.
