Name: James Ojaste File: Workshp2.jpg Used: Moray v1.54, povray v2.2, compiled for linux, with extensions I recently recovered 4 meg of memory (bringing my total up to 8), and I figured I might as well try a trace (seeing as I haven't done one for months). Anyway, most of the stuff in the scene is pretty straight-forward. The only really odd part is the CSG drill bit. Basically, I took a cylinder, offset it from the origin, and tilted it: ----\ \--- \ \ \ \ ---- \---- I then formed a group, with the cylinder being the only member. I then copied the group several times, rotating it by about 5 degrees each time, and offsetting the z coord by about .1. Since the group was being rotated, the cylinder travelled nicely around the origin, forming a spiral that I could use in a CSG. Bit of a kludge, but easy to do.
