I attempted to create the effect of my three-frame 'cartoon' rising in vibrant color out of the bland, meaningless gray expanse of other cartoons. Unfortunately, that's not really the impression the image gives the viewer. I am pleased with the way the flag turned out, though. I think it looks very realistic and has a great deal of depth. The $5 bills in the center frame are 1953 silver certificates from a time when our currency was still backed by *something*. The cartridges in the final frame I took from another scene that I made but have never released. They're accurately scaled 9x19mm jacketed hollow points. The text under the frames is representative of what I think of individual rights and their primacy over all else. I won't go into detail here. I'll just mention that most of the reading I've done in the past three or four years has been philosophical in nature. :-) The image took about 7 hours to render on a 386DX40 w/8M with anti-aliasing set at 0.3. I used a large number of texture and image maps in making the image, but I haven't included them in the .zip file because they're too large. If anyone would like them, let me know and we can arrange a way to get them to you.
