===== Nice composition, a complete scene, not too much added, but just right. Evocative of the ray-tracing medium, a clean appealing image. ===== High tech points here for your creative use of heightfields, the accurate job you've done with your lighting ( makes the objects in the foreground look so real. . . ), and overall attention to detail: modelling of the chair and porch posts, and precision placement of the textures on the chair, swing, porch, and bridge. Great work. ===== nice chair texture ===== This is a terrific picture. Very nice use of lighting. I subtracted a few points on technical merit because of the use of Photoshop, which I feel allows an advantage to Mac/Windows users over Unix users. I like to judge based on tools that are available for all platforms. But thats just me. ===== A very beautiful image. I love the attention to detail and the very realistic "soft" shadows. ===== Nice use of atmosphere, I also enjoyed the landscaping. The woodwork is also very nice. ===== Very authentic and realistic scene. Excellent tranquil mood. Intruiguing use of height fields. Especially liked the woven chair seat and back. ===== Nice wood textures ===== very realistic; restful ===== Nice Bridge ===== Lots of heightfields... which is implimented very well here. Remember, water is clear... You need to let us see what's under shallow water. Also, the light doesn't refract quite right through the liquid in the glass. Fill a glass up with tea and see for yourself. Other than that, good job. The wood textures are great, as is the ground texture. (Although it'd look better if it wasn't so flat.) I like the sky and the distance fog. Keeps the horizon from looking bad. Kind of a repeated theme in this contest, though. (Although you didn't know that when you started.) ===== Very nice picture. I think that a few trees in the distance, of different types would improve it even more. ===== I love the porch! Very realistic. Landscape beyond the porch looks a little too flat, and may need something to look at (cows, a fenced in yard, horses, street whatever). ===== this is REAL nice. The wood looks great. ===== The planks AND the weaving on the chair are _heightfields_ - that's a very unusual technique, and the results are excellent! ===== I suspected from the level of realism that this was modelled after a real location. This reminds me in fact of my own Aunt Laura's house in the same "not exactly" kind of way the artist describes. I was surprised by the use of height-fields for planking, but it seemed to work out for this idea.
