TITLE: BlackBird NAME: Jarich Koning COUNTRY: The Netherlands EMAIL: j.f.koning@student.utwente.nl TOPIC: Flight COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: blackb.jpg ZIPFILE: blackb.zip RENDERER USED: Povray 3.0 RENDER TIME: 802 seconds HARDWARE USED: Pentium 120 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A free interpretation of the USAF BlackBird. "BB 384 heading home at Mach 3.3 at 6000 feet. Mission succeeded. Over and out." Comments: It's a fairly simple image. The airplane hasn't got some details. The cockpit window I created by `differencing' some Bezier Patches. That's officially not possible, but it works! I planned to create a sunset scene, with the sun in the camera view, but that was impossible, because the lighting got to bad. I'd like some feedback, 'cause it's the first time I'm participating. Thank you ;-). DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I used Moray to make the airplane. I mainly used Bezier Patches to do this. After I exported the airplane, I extensively hand-edited the source, thereby creating the environment (real-scale ocean etc.), making the textures (all self-made), creating the halo's (the afterburner), and to fine-tune the image (cameras, lighting, position etc. of the airplane). The image-maps I created using paintbrush, and converting with Alchemy 1.8.
