Good original idea.  The oil spill isn't completely realistic, but is a damned
fine effort.
Engine looks a bit clean, but that's raytracing for you, we have to get those
reflections in there somewhere ;-)

This looks a lot more like 'lack of flight' than 'flight', but nevermind.
Nice oil texture. I think bicubic patches would 've been better than
height-fields for the sand

the "path" through the sand that the engine cut didn't look like it was supposed
to, to me. The "dug out" part looked like little mountains instead. But I liked
the engine image.

The reflections of the horizon on the engine are quite effective and a nice
touch.

The ground looks a bit lunar.

Some things here work better than others. The Engine is far too clean for
something that
just plunged into the sand. no scratches, no soot. On the other hand the way it
has
dug into the sand is a nice detail and works well. The iridescence on the oil
isn't
quite realistic, but nice anyway. The rock is very well done, something many
thought
impossible in POV not so long ago.

The oil leak could have been darker(looks like ethyl alc : ). But otherwise one
of the better images I've seen.

Maybe if you had made the oil a bit more permeable it would look a bit better.

nice image - good textures, realistic.  suggestions:  it's good but maybe not as
interesting as it could be - just a broken model engine.

Cute concept.  Good modelling on the motor.  The ground looks a bit out of
proportion to the scale of the motor.  And isn't oil only irridescent when
it's floating on water?  Loved the bent screw!
