took all the little models you had in your closet for years and just threw them

The reason my technical merit score is so low is that I don't see any credits
for your models.  I have trouble believing you created all these models
personally in the time allotted.  Also, your heavy dependence on expensive
hardware and software is a major factor.

Nice collection of objects. Modelled them yourself? Background is perfectly
defocused so the unusual flying form has our attention. Better use of
lighting might help make details more easily recognisable (the book pages and
laced boot)

very original...well done, even if it was done on every 3d artist's dream
machine.

The construction is brilliant.  The rendering of the world is excellent.  
The composition of the image makes it a little hard to comprehend at first.  
This might be corrected by using focal blur in the camera, with a limited depth
of field, so that there is not such a stark contrast between the sharp focus of
the subject and the blurriness of the background.  Also by simplifying the
composition of the background-- it looks like a gratuitous display.
