HARDWARE USED: Packard Bell 166Mhz Pentium 16megs RAM 2Gig Hard Drive IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Glass objects on a table DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is my first time using this new version of POV-RAY. I got to use some new features for the first time. For example, the "Surface-Of-Revolution" or "sor". This allowed me to plot a kind of "cross section" of certain objects such as the wine bottles, and let POV-RAY sweep around to make the 3-D object. I also used the "prism" key word to create the pyramids that make up the jewelry box that contains the glowing sphere, as well as the glass sign that sits at the front of the table. The vase and wine glasses were created in the same manner as the wine bottles. The crystal bowl at the right was done the old fashioned way with using constructive solid geometry. I took the difference of two concentric spheres, used the "clipped_by" command to cut it into a hemishpere, then put a cylinder with a height of 2 units as the base. You may notice that I scaled the objects rather large so I wouldn't have to spend too much time figuring out fractions of units for translating and scaling. This is just a personal preference. The final object was rendered and dumped in .tga format. I then used Micro Grafix Picture Publihser LE to convert it to .jpg format.
