DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


This image was a lot simpler to make than I had first anticipated, except for
the lens which is still giving me some trouble. I had to increase the incidence
of refraction on the lens to get the magnification I wanted. But there is some
distortion on the edges that I would like to get rid of, its got me
stumped..any ideas anyone? I may have just gone about it the wrong way....it is
basically a scaled sphere clipped by a cylinder. Any optical engineers out
there?

The rest of the magnifying glass is all basic shapes and textures that came
with
pov 3.0. Lots of csg ops. Also I tried to use octahedrons?
hoptasomethinrons?... pyramids.... instead of spheres but I kept getting "this
program has performed an illigal operation" messages. Never figured that out
either.  

The Bible text is a bitmap scanned from a loosleaf Bible and modified on Paint
Shop Pro. I added alot of crackle texture (too much?) in an effort to make it
look old. I think the verse fits the topic really well. :)
