Sorry for non-French-speaking people, but everybody else should read this
masterpiece. At first, "school" did not seem to be a very funny idea to me.
But the idea of making a class picture sounded better.

When I arrived to shoot it, the pupils were gone, and little green people
were there. I just had time enough to take the picture and to flee away,
so I think it may be somewhat twisted. Sorry!

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


As usual, everything was designed by hand.
A very nice part of the job was to get 24 different-looking martians.
Helmets made of my "beer mug" glass, lemniscate-shaped.
First I wrote it in B&W, with no colour at all, but it was somewhat dull.
I didn't use clipping to destroy the school, since it leaves hollow walls. So
every piece of wall had to be intersected with the shape. This shape was
created using POV itself, generating a bozo map used as a heightfield.
The frame is part of the picture, not a result of post-processing.

If you want to render this picture, be aware that frame, leaves and martians
need a large amount of memory: POV's peak alloc size is over 26 Mb.
Also note that manual bounding around the frame and leaves decreased rendering
time by over 40%.
