TITLE: Fantasy On Pair Creation in a Bubble Tank NAME: Alan Grover COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: alan@internetaddress.com TOPIC: Physics & Math COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: fopciabt.jpg ZIPFILE: fopciabt.zip RENDERER USED: POV-RAY for windows, version 3.01 TOOLS USED: Fractal Design Painter 4.0 (for text and .jpg) RENDER TIME: 4h 33m HARDWARE USED: Pentium 100Mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This is a Fantasy on what it might be like to be a particle in a bubble tank. It is not intended to be realistic in scale, curve accuracy, etc. I just thought it would be interesting, and all my attempts for previous contests were too ambitious and didn't get finished in time. I thought it would be better to have a simple submission that I actually enter than a complex one that isn't done enough to enter. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Three bubble #declare loops. Two halos. One background elipisoid. Pretty simple. One interesting (annoying) feature of this image is the strange interaction between the outer fringe of the halo and the reflective bubbles. IMHO it's still presentable; if you aren't looking for it you might not notice it. Also, I think it's too bad POV dosn't have a more realistic IOR model. This model only looks like bubbles with a bland background all around, and few picture elements, because its not really IOR, giving total internal reflection, but just reflection.
