JPGFILE: oserath.jpg ZIPFILE: oserath.zip RENDERER USED: POV-RAY 3.01 for Win95 TOOLS USED: Win95 TT font Copperplate Gothic Bold, Graphic Workshop version 1.1x for JPEG conversion RENDER TIME: 18h50min02sec HARDWARE USED: IBM PC 330, Pentium 166, 32MB RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: My picture is visualisation of Erathostenes sieve. It is a algorithm for calculating of prime numbers. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: First i have created both planes. Then i have declared all boxes and balls. I have after them built the sieve and placed balls. Last time i added the stone bar with numbers. At the start i have declared the sieve as a union of boxes, later was union replaced with merge keyword. The render time is with this operation dramaticaly larger (from 30 min to 19h). I thought that the merge should take out all internal bounds, but (you can see it) i am not sure that POV-Ray interpret the adjacent areas right. I can be wrong, it is my first attempt to participiate in IRTC and i work with this software only 1 month. P.S. Sorry if the term sieve is not right for the description of this Erathostens algorithm, i have very small dictionary and my English is not good.
