===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Ouch. It's a nice image...BUT! This is a contest for raytraced or rendered images only. Your original wireframe might have been barely acceptable as a "rendering" (though as a lone wireframe in a contest of otherwise 3D art, it would have likely done quite poorly), but the colouring in by hand moves it into a completely different class of image, and definately violates the "no post-processing" rules. Your concept is interesting, and it's too bad you did not attempt to create an image based on it that fell within the realm of this competition. While I find the image interesting and your concept and technique intriging, I have no choice but to award you 1-1-1 as you have completely failed to meet basic entry requirements. I hope this does not discourage you from future attempts, but instead encourages you to locate either the proper forum for your art, or to attempt an actual rendering or raytracing for a future round of the IRTC. ===== From jmg@gte.net: hmmm....I think were breaking some IRTC post-processing rules. but I still love it. ===== From jroy@internauts.ca: Is this really raytracing of some type ?? ===== From klynn@minn.net: Very nicely done! However, I believe you violated the rules for post_processing the 3D rendered image by printing & watercoloring the rendered image. Very nice graphics design work, though; and innovative use of 3D rendering technology in your processes. ===== From kazemir@pde.com: Although I like the image, it is an ilegal entry into the competition. The final image must be rendered. So I can't fairly compare this with the other entries. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: This is not the product of a computer rendering program. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Hmmm... Nice, but not a rendered/raytraced image, IMHO. ===== From lowellr@globaldialog.com: I like the picture and concept but it seems to be a violation of the submission rules ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: What a dilemma. I have no idea how to rate this image. It's unlike anything I've seen before. Is this primarily a "raytracing"? Or should this image be entered in the IXC (Internet Xerox Competition)? But it's one of the best pure illustrations here... ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Hmmm... a bit sorry about this picture. It's very nice and I like it, but to me, it has absolutely nothing to do in the IRTC... I think that enlarging, then painting and adding other drawings is manual POSTPROCESSING. Why not, then, using POV-Ray to make an empty scene with a White background, then painting on a print of it? ===== From dick@buckosoft.com: I think this image has generated more comments than any other single image in the IRTC. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: This image is illegal for using _heavy_ post-processing. Only direct renderer outputs are allowed int he IRTC. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: It's a great image, but unfortunately this is the wrong forum for it. I mean - it's not ray-traced! ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: I'm sure I'm not the first to give you all ones, but I'll still offer up an explanation and give you some molification. I just couldn't see how the image qualifies under the current contest guidlines. Hence, the ones. Beyond that though, I have to say it's a wonderful image. :{) ===== From msfl.bf@fasonet.bf: Great image. Too bad it doesn't comply with the rules. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Artistic and a very nice image. However, I can only give one point for technical merit because this is not a rendered image.
