From djconnel@flash.net:

Roman baths are a novel and significant choice -- and the modeling is
done impressively. The statues are very nicely done, a nice complement
to the square geometries of the bath. The art on the wall is equally
impressive. Texturing is very effectively used. The water is interestingly
done. The only weaknesses are the background (sky and ground) and
the lack of emphasis of engineering aspects... for example, the plumbing
isn't in evidence.

From castlewrks@aol.com:
The pool of water in the foreground is excellent. Also
the application of the frieze on the wall is great...
alas, the view fails to invite one into the realm of
the image. The pool directly in front, stops the
viewer from coming into the picture... had it been to
one side and the view been parralel with the side of
it, the image would have gotten depth and revealed a
more inviting place to "enter".

From agage@mines.edu:
The image could use some antialiasing, and there appear to be artifacts in the
upper right corner.

Overall I quite like this image, the water is very well-done, I like the subtle
distortion its giving to everythign underneath it. However, there are a few
"glaring problems" with the image; first, you need to use a much better
anti-aliasing quality, I'm seeing far too many "stairstep edges" in this image.
Second, your sky is too uniform and bland a colour. Wispy clouds or a
slight-but-visibile gradation in the blue would have been nice. Third, the
blobby porpoise thing in the centre of the image looks out of position, as if
it's floating in mid-air rather then standing on any sort of solid base. On
the other hand, some of the texturing, and the detailing of the stonework for
the column bases & tops and the balcony (?) edge are nicely done.

This is a great picture, but it's spoiled be the use of aliasing. Try either
turning on anti-aliasing, or using a higher factor.

From chipr@niestu.com:
Nice design, good perspective, very rich colors, good texturing. Only two
quibbles: First, the sculptures are a bit off-putting--too abstract,
unbalanced, I dunno. Second, the water looks odd--ripples too large, maybe,
and it's a bit *too* clear. Perhaps just a touch of haze would have been more
convincing. The background is quite effective, with the buildings and stuff.
Overall very nice image.

Intricate. Nice quiet mood. Very dramatic lighting
makes the scene come alive.

From arcana@sinbad.net:
I would have loved to see this image rendered with anti-aliasing turned on.
Also,
as you mentioned, the water needs work.

From bobfranke@halcyon.com:
I but gaudy, but I guess that's the Romans. I find the water confusing. It has
wavy reflections and refractions, but seem to be absolutely still and flat on
the surface. Also there seems to be some of light problem in the upper right.
One improvement would be to turn up the anti-aliasing. The tapestry, of maybe
Caesar, on the back wall is especially good.

From wozzeck@club-internet.fr:
I like the idea nad most of the realisation. However lighting could be improved
(especially outside), and this picture really lacks antialiasing.

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
Full of interesting shapes and textures!
The dolphins are a tiny bit strange!
Overall, a very nice image.

=====
From jaime@ctav.es:
Very nice, but needs urgently antialiasing... (+A in POV-Ray)

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:
Ever heard of anti-aliasing? Almost all edges are jagged.
Quite nice composition and modelling otherwise.

=====
From lpurple@netcom.com:
Overall a well-designed scene; but the dolphin models need more work;
and the renered image definitely needs higher antialiasing.

Beautiful image, damaged a bit by aliasing problems. The image maps were used
effectively. I like the mosaic. The lighting is effective. The dolphinlike
abstract sculpture is good, but anachronistic.
