JPGFILE: getwater.jpg ZIPFILE: getwater.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.1a TOOLS USED: paint shop pro 4, spatch 1.5 RENDER TIME: 3 hours HARDWARE USED: pentium 233 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: One night I had a dream -- about a wandering midget man, dutifully collecting water from the surface of the ocean. This IS the nomadic puddle harvester, skimming o'er the briny blue. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Hills: Hills are height fields created from images painted in PSP. Some image maps are used for texture. Sky: Sky created from three layered textures. Water: Water is a plane with a bumpy normal, slightly transparent, reflective finish. Tree: Each 'branch' on the tree is just a series of jointed triangles. A macro is used to generate each branch. A random value passed to this macro determines where the branch is placed and which direction it points. The initial placement and direction of the branch determines how much the branch will sag -- the lower the branch initially points, the more it will sag. The trunk of the tree was created with sPatch. Walkway: The walkway was created with six segments that are randomly assembled. Each segment was created with CSG. Nomad: The little guy was modeled with sPatch and textured with image maps. His pots and pot carrier was modeled with CSG. All .POV and .INC files are included with the zip file. The other files used as image maps and height fields were too large to include. I'll gladly send them on request.
