I mean there's not even a space ship visible in the window. Well... It all started when I went to a friend of mine's house to watch old movies and so on. We watched, among others, Coming to America, with Eddie Murphy. Excellent movie btw. Its about a guy, a prince, (Murphy) who has an arranged marriage and he goes to America to find his own wife. Anyhow, The point is that I was thinking about First Encounters, and saw the move with the Arranged Marriage... This image is about a Prince who is waiting nervously in the small hours of the morning. It's not just any morning but the morning of which he is to meet his 'arranged' bride. Today is his wedding day. He is contemplating life, and his role within it. Here he is, stealing a few minutes of peace and quite looking out over the palace grounds. Alone in the solitude of the moons light and the cracking dawn, he reflects on his life and his future. This is my impression of what I would be doing if I were in the same situation. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I used simple objects to create the scene. (Simplicity is a goal of mine. Emphasis on Textures, not on modeling) Boxes for the Floor and Wall. Cylinders for the Pillars. Lathe objects,(Rotation Sweeps) to create the Pillar bases. Loft (transitional sweeps) objects for the borders of the wall and window. I found a image of a tree on the net and using PhotoShop I was able to create opacity maps, diffuse maps and bump maps to get the trees in the window. Poser was used to create the Prince, though all textures and some mesh fine-tuning was done in 3DStudio MAX.
