I'm stunned, someone help me, I can't find any problems
with this image. Actually I can, and this is really trivial, I
would make the name and date more subtle.

From gregj56590@aol.com:
In an otherwise perfect image, the object at the center of focus, the apple
stem, is distractingly imperfect.

=====
From klynn@uswest.net:
Wow. I didn't know that the RDS renderer was this good.
=====
From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu:
Well done frog, but that's an extremely realistic apple.

=====
From kniazfam@ohio.net:
This is a beautiful image! First of all, the apple is good
enough to eat. The dew drops on it only add to its
beauty. The only think I find fault with is the frog. I
wish its texture was a little more froggish. It looks a little
too plastic right now. Maybe if you added a little brown
it would help. But still, this image is one of my favorites!

Bravo !

From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com:
the frog and insect look great! I think the insect is a little too big for the
scene. I think there is a scale or perspective problem but I'm not sure what
it is. Individually each object looks great!

From caleb@chemeng.uct.ac.za:
Very nice, anti-aliasing required tho'. Well done !

=====
From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Lots of realism here (except for the frog eyes).

=====
From MMandl@aol.com:
Very nice image. The way you put your name distracted from the artistic merit.

=====
From djconnel@flash.net:
Technical : Excellent!!! The use of textures and the
quality of the models
is all very nicely done! Ray Dream tends to produce
"plastic" looking
scenes, in my experience.... you show this isn't
necessarily the case, though.

Artistic: Again -- nicely done!!! The scene has a lot of
"life" to it.

Concept: Sort of average, although it does meet the
spec.  It doesn't
seem to show much of the "first" part of the topic. The
frog has clearly
encountered bugs before...

Very well done. Not much more to say.

From dnash@umich.edu:
I like the detailed depiction of the frog and insect -- good job on the
textures!

Excellent image. Nice composition and colour. On topic.

From 101741.541@compuserve.com:
Belle composition, bonne profondeur;
palette de couleurs fraiche.La pomme est peut-etre
un peu trop lisse. Tu ne dis pas si le flou est du
au rendu ou si ce sont des images floues mappees
dans la scene...

From blaineholmes@hotmail.com:
Great modeling. Focal blur works well here.

=====
From wozzeck@club-internet.fr:
Tres joli.

From clem@dhol.com:
Extremey good modelling and texturing. The leaves are
stunning. The frog skin is a bit on the plastic side and
the frog's eyes merge seamlessly with the lids rather than
being separate objects, but these are fairly minor details.
Why are so many of the most skilfully done images this
round based on the "insect about to be eaten" theme?
Great work.

=====
From jaime@ctav.es:
Very impressive! It seems BETTER than a photography. Only the stem of the apple
looks strange with a wood texture.

=====
From arcana@sinbad.net:
Wonderful image. Two "adjustments" I'd suggest. A bit more work on the stem
of the apple. The leaves have a feel of artificiality to them. I thiunk due
to the whitening of the tips. It reminds me of the leaves on silk plants.

I really like this image and was pleasantly suprised to see it was made in Ray
Dream Studio. You did an excellent job on it. The modelling is well done. I
especially like the antennae on the bug and the bump texture on the frog. The
only thing I would say might stand improvement is the eyes of the frog. A
little gold in place of the brown might look a little better. Just a thought
though on a really nice image.

Beautiful!!!!!!! The focal blur looks great and the lighting is very subtle...
magnificent image.

From r@haka.saunalahti.fi:
For a second I though this was a photo. The apple texture is good, and works
well with the lighting. At a second glance the frog looks a bit like a plastic
toy - it might need some more facial features.

One of the most (if not the most) realistic images this round. The water drops
on the apple are a nice touch to realism!
