Some more organic space ships similar to Babaylon 5,
this is getting popular. The modeling of Voyager 2 is
very good, but I don't think it is really all one color. Try
experimating with media for the light beams. The render
time will go way up, but the results will be worth it.

Nice image. The only thing that I can really suggest would be to add some more
stars!

I like the 'beamships', neat concept.

Just out of curiosity...why would running into Voyager destroy their
civilization?

From grimmg@hotmail.com:
The idea was good, but the images is too simple. We speek about a alien
civilisation and we can only see a blue beam ...

I like the idea of the alien ships travelling on the blue cylinders. What would
really be cool is if the cylinders glowed or had a misty halo around them!
Good job modelling organic ships in POV.

Nice blend of wierdness and familiarity. I think the probe came out quite
well.
Is the probe beam actually illuminating Voyager? This would be a nice touch.
How about adding a thin glow around the light beams...
Good Voyager model. Good star field.

Interesting idea, and nice modeling! I really like the
use of
"organic" shapes. But I'd like to see a bit more of the
alien
"ship"... it isn't at all obvious that it is a ship from the
image.

Voyager is quite well done.

Nice job with the voyager model. I feel the beam would look better if it
was more diffuse on the edges and the color was not constant throughout.

Original and illustrates the topic. The big problem with
alien objects is their alienness. Believability depends
largely on recognition. Nice try.

Very good Voyager model. It should have been more
evident (bigger) in the scene,
with the alien stuff in the background... (you spent time
doing good work, make that
obvious !)

Great work modeling Voyager.

From clem@dhol.com:
A very good idea and a nicely arranged image. The
overall layout makes me think of a Chinese character. I
like the semiorganic alien ship and the bizarre
propulsion, although the visible beams in the vacuum of
space irritate the science nerd in me. Call it artistic
license. The Voyager is well modelled. The stars work
pretty well. The biggest shortcoming is the fact that the
beams don't really glow. Linear area lights in the
propulsion beams and (especially) a colored spotlight in
the probe beam would have enhanced the image
considerably. Radiosity might have enhanced "realism"
considerably, too. The size of the alien ship and probe
relative to the Voyager are also questionable, but the
image works well enough anyway.

Nice idea, oposite to the typical this round. Thanks!

The probe is very well modeled. The beams might look better if they weren't
quite so solid.
Notable for modelling
