===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Nice. I like the design of the pool table and the desk in the background. Some of the wood grain seems a little large. For more realism I would turn down the ambient light in the room and add some strong lighting just above the pool table. Some smoke in the air would be nice, but this looks like a place that does not allow smoking. ===== From newkirk@snip.net: Looks like you got more than the dartboard from Guiness... ;^) Carpet is wonderful. I can feel the texture. Wood-grain on wall details and picture frames looks too large for the objects. ===== From manorton@tcnet.net: The que on the floor is not casting a shadow. it makes it look flat. ===== From dick@buckosoft.com: Needs a pinball machine in that bar. A nice place like this would never have a stick on the floor (you could have made a "house rack"). Nice color and composition. ===== From will@ism.com.br: Hmm... i'm almost sure i've already seen this Guiness posters... Something about a funny-dressed guy and a big bad bald one... ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Pretty good modelling on all the objects. Nice carpet and pool table. "Toilets" sign is garish and out of place in such a posh environment. Is that glass somehow balanced on top of the wainscoting? Nice wood on the walls, but the grain doesn't run in the right direction (parallel to the length of the wood). Good story within the scene. Where are the darts? ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nice story, but I think you agree the picture, on its own, is a stretch on the topic :). I really like the scene. It reminds me a bit too much of the scene from Pool Shark, though (IRTC animation round winner for October 1998). Dan ===== From east103@dialaccess.com: Nice looking image ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Very realistic pool room, makes a very attractive image but without the text requires detective work to see the connection to the topic. ===== From blaineholmes@hotmail.com: Nice modeling. Beautiful objects. I still don't get what it has to do with first encounters. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Amazing details on modelling and texturing. Nice lighting too. ===== From r@haka.saunalahti.fi: I love it! The finish on the table is perfect, as is the carpet. And all that detail. Compared to the table itself, the lighting on the rest of the scene (including the balls) might be a touch too bright. Your wood textures seem to be suffering from the "bloody huge tree" effect, but one really has to look for it to notice it, and getting rid of it without ruining the great patterning might not be worth it. Notable for textures
