IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Don't see how this fits into FIRST ENCOUNTER? Sit back while I explain to you why this image DOES fit into the first-encounter category. This picture tells a story of a boy or girl (maybe even you) who went to a billiard room for his/her first time. S/he played a game of pool and s/he were the solid balls. S/he got beaten badly by his/her opponant, hence all the solid balls left on the table without a black ball. Then, s/he threw the pool cue down on the floor and played some darts. S/he was the person on the left side of the chalkboard score table. As you can see, s/he got clobbered by his/her opponant. S/he went home crying. But don't worry, s/he's fine now. All this happened last year :) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Everything put forth here is fairly complex modelling done by me inside trueSpace. Yes, before you say anything, the room does look a lot like the past animation winner "THE POOL SHARK". As they say, imitation is the highest flattery. I got the poster/dartboard texture map from the guiness site which is in his .txt file. I loved the layout of Niel Alexander's room and I decided to do my own variation on it. If you look very closely, you'll see dart holes in the wall where people have missed the dartboard. Those are subtractions of very small cylinders and to make them black, I made the background on this scene black colour.
