TITLE: Celestial chess board NAME: Chris Anemone COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: Kakaze@aol.com TOPIC: Imaginary Worlds COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: chess.jpg RENDERER USED: Bryce2 TOOLS USED: Bryce2, Corel Photopaint RENDER TIME: I had to start and stop it a few times. I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it was about 20 hours. HARDWARE USED: Pentium 60mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A dreamy world of chess and Spanish galleons. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The galleon and the chess pieces are DXF's that I've had floating around on my hard drive for a couple years. I originally downloaded them from AOL. I can't remember who made them :-( The mountains in the background are just basic Bryce terrains. The checkerboard floor is a basic checkerboard, that was changed to make the squares bigger. The checkerboard on the ceiling was originally the sambe basic texture as the floor, but I changed it to have a negative refraction index, and to turn the black squares transparent. There is a basic sky above that. The lake/sea was created by turning a Bryce mountain upside down, turning it into a negative boolean, and than grouping it with the floor. A 2D disk with my water texture was then placed at ground level and sized to cover the entire depression created by the boolean.
