JPGFILE: jmescher.jpg ZIPFILE: jmescher.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.1a TOOLS USED: My brain and fingers (all hand coded!) RENDER TIME: HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 266MHz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The office of M. C. Escher spins through a starry void. The sparse elegance of geometric and organic form combine in the world of the master. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This image was created entirely by hand, using Povray primitives and its basic programming language. The 'room' is based upon 'Other World' by M. C. Escher, but is modified to create a more 'snug' appearance. The objects were made one by one, and serve to distract the viewer's sense of gravity. The big green thing in the middle was a quirky thing I happened upon by accident a long time before making this scene. It's a good centre-piece, because its organic flow (like liquid poured in low gravity?) sets off the geometric lines of the room. I didn't use caustics with it, simply because I think the shadow looks better the way it is.
