I may not be interpreting your description right, but "touching up and adding clouds" in Photoshop isn't legal by the rules of the competition.  As such, your image took quite a beating on my vote, despite the fact that I really do like it.  Sorry!  :)

As the mountains and clouds are black and white, I think the whiole image
would have more impact if everything was B/W.  Is it my imagination or are
there two humanoid figures in the mountain on the right, if they are and
they're there intentionally it adds a new dimension to the image.

Rather stark and bleak. The detail on the rock foreground looks okay, but
probably needs more contrast on the other peaks. Fog is too featureless I
think. I just think this needs more in it - more colour or texture.

An exercise in creating some odd shapes that might come in useful in another scene. I have no idea what else is supposed to be going on. Yes, there is some on top of the center shape.
