As the explorer ship approached the system, Chief Scientist Algernon was even
more baffled than he was 3 months ago when they first picked up the strange
signals. Thier scanners showed a planet surrounded by an object which enveloped
the planet in a strange energy. 
But why? What was the purpose of the planet's container. Does it keep people in?
or out? Or is it for something completly different? 
The only thing he knew for sure was that unraveling its mysteries would not be
easy.


DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


This is my first try at this competion...please be gentle ;)

The planet is 2 spheres, one with a slightly modified cloud map to make the
hurricane like storm on the planet surface. The moon is just a sphere with a
chipped concrete texture.
There are 4 linked torus orbiting the planet. Each torus has 3 more inside it to
produce the plasma effect.
The stars are not modeled, but are produced by Bryce itself.

I was going for alge filled water and some dry spots on the planet surface...I'm
not sure how sucessful I was.

I tried to add a few things to make it more interesting (the explorers space
ship, a distant galaxy...), but they distracted from the focus of the picture
(the cage), so I finally decided to leave them off.

All in all, I'm happy with the way it turned out. I personally think the
construction is there to terraform the planet for some alien race...but maybe
you see something different.

The source file is kinda big, so I'll just make it avalible upon request.
