===== From PsycoDeadMan@innocent.com: This probably could've been really nice with some more work. definatly the blue texture needs a lot of work... at first i thought it was supposed to be lego's ===== From uwezi@geocities.com: far too blue - I would say. As I have seen the Ishtar gate in former East Berlin, I would have appreciated some image maps for the walls.... ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: A good start. The image just needs more small details. I like the tops of the trees. Because of a few problems with Poser, it is often wise to not use a Poser object as the main focus. This is taking that concept to the extreme. ===== From sammy@cube.net: Some background and textures would have been nice. I first thought it was supposed to be a lego world depiction of the babylon tower. Another camera Angle and different lighting would also have added depth to the picture. As it is, the viewer can't see the steps in the tower's side. ===== From archangel@wxs.nl: Uhm, can you explain why those towers 'n stuff are blue? I mean... that stone texture looks kinda good... If you had made a sky, ground and better texturing it would really look good... But for now.. Well, the concept, originality and interpretation of them are quite good... ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Nice concept -- maybe too grand? No doubt on it meeting the topic! Great palm tops -- I grew up in S. Florida, USA and they were immediately recognizable. The trunks could use some work, tho. Does your software allow "instancing"? This is a good way to cut down on RAM requirements (but not on render time). Remember what scale you're goning to use an object - 9 MB for a tree seems excessive for a medium length shot like this. Too much detail? The camera angle seems real rigid and static -- all lines are up and down or right and left -- did you try some different angles? And strong single light behind camera is not flattering. You lose some of the neat structure w/o some fill lights to give shadows. And where is other figure -- I see only one - not a couple . ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Interesting topic, but poor realisation. Lighting is essential to a scene, please toy more with lights and shadows. ===== From tlyons@gnn.com: hmmm legos........... ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: The structures are awfully blue, making them seem... like Legos. A lower camera viewpoint would make the scale of the structures more imposing. ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: The scene is over-illuminated. Try removing all but one of the lights or reducing the intensity of the lights. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Your ambition overwhelmed your detail. The end result looks like a Lego construction. You would have been well advised to focus on say, the ziggurat or the Ishtar gate and try to do them justice.
