===== From grimmg@hotmail.com: Very realistic ! ===== From uwezi@geocities.com: The plants are too tall in my opinion. They tend to reduce the canyon to a drainage trench which would then make it a bridge for ants..... ===== From jake@snafu.de: Best water ever I've seen. ===== From jabeck@bellsouth.net: Can't wait to study the source. Love the water. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Great realism. At first I thought the sky was from a photo, but then, I remembered who the artist is. The reeds seem a bit repetitious but the water and canyon are great. As usual, very creative use a height fields. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: All I can say is that it's really disgusting to see how much better this image is than my own. It's main problem is that I didn't do it. I'm not sure that its tie in with the theme is as strong as the rest of the elements of the picture. ===== From curtis_cooper@hotmail.com: So realistic, absolutely amazing. ===== From sammy@cube.net: very beautifull picture. Pure fotorealism ... too bad it's a slightly too stretched meaning of the theme imo. ===== From archangel@wxs.nl: That water looks VERY realistic! The bridge is a bit too small, but the total looks quite good! ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Nice image. Good modelling of canyon walls and love the water -- looks like some rivers I've rafted down -- the calmer sections, that is. I've had good success with connecting HF using reflected versions of the same HF. Migfht be easier than your camera moves. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Matter of english, in your P.S. I guess you mean non-intentional rather than actually intentional. Or maybe "in no way intentional". How is one supposed to comment such an entry. I wonder is it fair to allow these experts into these competitions ? A brilliant picture as for most I have seen from Jaime. Very realistic looking. I'm surprised you went for several shots for the height fields. Why not do a long narrow picture ? That would be easy as well and give pretty much the same result albeit in one pass. You can define both the image dimensions and camera in a size ratio of something like 1:10, and that's the job done. ===== From tlyons@gnn.com: habn't this sean appeared in about 5 Xena/Hercules episodes??? ===== From eallen@highway1.com: Finally, some descent looking clouds using povray. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Elements of this scene seem totally photorealistic. So how did you make the reed meshes? ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: The plants are too regularly spaced. ===== From martialrameaux@multimania.com: Always so nice image Jaime et j'aime ;-) Martial ===== From joergnick@aol.com: Whow, the water is really moving if you look very close. One of the best water creations I ever saw. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Very artistic. Scary bridge with that break. Excellent plants and rocks. Water is good, but a bit solid looking. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: This is a photo you took on your last vacation, right? Very realistic, although I'm not sure I want to risk crossing that bridge... there seems to be a piece of the planking missing in the middle. ===== From file: Beautiful scene. The Rock texture on the walls is superb and I love the sky. On the down side...It seems that the water is a little out of scale. Perhaps smaller waves to give the effect of width and depth. Notable for textures ===== From file: Notable for composition, modelling, textures, lighting
