===== From uwezi@geocities.com: too bad: the water is much too calm for a stormy impression! It looks a bit confusing with the leaning lighthouse as it was obviously not taken from the ship... anyway - another one of my favourites (not only due to the lighthouse) ===== From talious@sprynet.com: using anti-aliasesing method 2 (+am2) may have brought out the rigging a bit better (but would have increased render time on the media) ===== From jake@snafu.de: Good clouds and ship. ===== From jabeck@bellsouth.net: I don't really understand where the ship is located in this scene. It appears to be a background image. I love the sky! ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: I would like to see more detail in the buildings. I see you had the same problem with your rigging as I had with the vertical cables in my Golden Gate image. Thin, nearly vertical, lines trace broken while the ones at an angle are just fine. I like the idea of creating a real cloud instead of texture on a sphere. This could lead to general cloud macro include file? ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: The house on the beach is too clean. More detail would help. The ship is really great though it looks like some of the lines go through the sail. ===== From curtis_cooper@hotmail.com: I think this scene would have looked much better if it were during the night, the lighthouse seems out of place otherwise. ===== From ct@westmarch.com: its very well done, however some of the ropes look "chopy" higher antialiasing would fix that, ===== From sammy@cube.net: one of the nicer lighthouses. The water is too slick though. ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Striking pic. Seems sorta minimalistic - nice. IS the lighthouse leaning or am I up too late? Good waves and very good ship. Just enough details to be believable w/o overbearing senses. Nice layout of pic elements. Clouds are MUCH better than I can do, but still need some work. What about some ocean foam? ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Looks pretty good except for that black cloud in the middle. I like the sprinkle of water around the boats front, but the sea does not look up to it. ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: The buildings are not detailed enough -- they look like they were carved from single blocks of wood and then painted. Overall, the main problem with this image is the lack of surface imperfections on objects like the lighthouse. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Arresting image, very Turneresque. The water is a bit vitreous. It needs more spray and froth and small scale detail. The clouds are interesting, but grainy. The spray thrown up by the ship looks more like smoke. I really like the ship, but perhaps it steals too much thunder from the nominal subject. Very good image despite the gripes. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Nice clouds and clipper. House looks a little boxy. ===== From file: Notable for composition, lighting ===== From file: Fantastic piece! I would love to see this at a higher resolution. Notable for composition
