===== From uwezi@geocities.com: "stars and stripes" - the stripes don't follow the waves in the flag the light color seems artificial, unreal ===== From scarmig@ohmss.com: Very nicely done! ===== From jabeck@bellsouth.net: Being an Atlanta resident, I was really close to doing the exact same topic. How funny would that have been! ===== From curtis_cooper@hotmail.com: Doesn't seem real, not enough damage if it's been sitting for a century. Otherwise, incredible modelling job. ===== From tglover@nettally.com: Wow. Nice architect's impression style pic. Real impressive amount of detail in modelling and research. Trees come off looking sorta abstract -- works pretty well. Good lighting and composition -- not another straight up - from ground level! The flags (on the flag pole -- not in the sky) seek too straight -- to be this straight out would require a fair blow -- and the trees look calm. I know where you were going, but with the overall great details, this stands out as wrong (at least to me). I didn't know the gold on the dome was first placed there in 1957 -- I thought it'd been there from the start. I'm from Tallahassee, FL, and have passed by this building MANY times passing thru Atlanta -- thanks for teacing me something. BTW -- the first gold strike in USA was near Charlette, NC just before the strike at Dahlonaga -- another great town that's fun to visit. Both Charolette and Dahlonaga had US branch mints -- the first two! ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Nice trees. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Excellent detailing on the building and surrounding environment. Must be a stiff breeze holding those big flags out so straight. The windows seem to be mirrors. I don't like those phantom flags at all. ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: Very nice job with the modeling. However, it looks more like a two foot high scale model of the Capitol Building than an actual building. The lack of variation in the colors of the leaves on the trees is a problem with this picture. The flags on top of the building are a bit too stiff, as if they were made of cardboard instead of cloth. Also, the contrast between the straight stripes on the American flag and the curve of the top and bottom of the flag detracts a little from the image. The "ghosts" of the American and Confederate flags in the background is a very nice touch. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Good model and the trees are very nice. The dome seems a bit green. A detail view of the statue may have been nice. The flags are an interesting idea, but I must admit that I am one who finds unsavory connotations in the Confederate flag. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Beautifully modelled building. Almost looks too perfect... could probably have improved the realism with some dirt layers. Trees look a little flat. Sky and background look good. ===== From file: Notable for modelling ===== From file: great depiction Notable for modelling
