===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: You are an inspiration to all of us (and probably a major source of worry for your mom). Another great image. Wonderful blend of cultures. You're my hero!!! ===== From daffyduckx@hotmail.com: This is a very moody image. The lighting is nice. I especially like your brick texture. ===== From timk@jtse.com: Good sense of depth. Nice model. Good concept. Good textures. Not very good use of color, but good contrast. ===== From ameede@madmac.com: I am so happy to see that somebody in this contest didn't use focal blurring. You have pulled inspiration from previous work and variated the themes to meet with your own formalistic, and mimetic rationale. This is great! Although I'm not too crazy about an overall color light within a scene, yours seems to work well. The camera angle and focal length makes some of the pipes appear flat rather than projecting in space. ameede@madmac.com ===== From robertsc@accn.org: Good textures, good models. Objects are well-integrated in scene (no gaps). ===== From patrickd@netins.net: The textures on the pipes don't look real for some reason. The lighting and modeling looks great though! ===== From jake@snafu.de: The tank+body is good. The texture of stone and metal is not. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: Nicely composed, overall color harmony is gorgeous, if there is a sense of horror it comes form the unlikely play of texture and the vaguely obsessive ganglion of pipes ===== From dwallace@lynx.dac.neu.edu: One of the better ones, even with the difficulties with the body itself. ===== From tina@ripco.com: Very well laid out, as usual. The homogenity of the color bothered me slightly just slightly): it's pretty, it's not really bland, but it makes me want to drop it into PSP and try reshading it to see what it WOULD look like with a little different range of color. I have to admit the concept didn't grab me; it's definitely on topic, but for some reason just doesn't do me. I'm kinda surprised; usually I love your ideas. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: Interesting to note that this image is constructed with "parts" from other images, much the same way as the Frankenstein monster was created from "parts" of others. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: This is a very nicely designed image overall, though it is almost too bright. It looks almost cheery. Perhaps if the lighting were toned down slightly? ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Medieval horror brought into the industrial age. Good weaving of subtle horror themes: a dank claustrophobic environment, decay, suspension over an abyss, the fear of being submerged. The image looks "squashed" horizontally, as if it should actually be 800x800 pixels. This unusual camera (angle?) adds to the sense of dreamlike fantasy. The nearby bricks could use some work: they look flat, as if the mortar was painted on. Good lighting: interesting contrasts and shadows even though no light sources are visible. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: A stunning image, I really like the texturing particularly on the walls. Some of the pipes could do with being a bit more dry looking and the glass jar doesn't appear to have a texture at all but I imagine that this is caused by the positioning of the light sources. It's not obvious where the light is coming from, no windows, no lanterns or candles. I've knocked a few marks off because so much of this has come from other images or other peoples macros, but your honesty in this matter is appreciated. ===== From file: It was a nice composition... just wondered about the message... a bit unambiguous. Notable for modelling, originality, textures, lighting ===== From file: Notable for modelling, textures
