===== From markham@softcom.net: Very gross, although done very well. Kept with the theme quite well. ===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: Now that I have lost my lunch...Incredable detail. The character looks like Picard from Star Trek. This picture is the perfect representation of modern film sysle horror. Very graphic and detailed. Great job. ===== From timk@jtse.com: Excellent model, texture, and light. But average concept at best. It's not horrific. It's just gross. Chalk up another one for teen slasher flicks... ===== From curtis_cooper@hotmail.com: Disgusting ===== From ameede@madmac.com: This is one serious horror picture. The best parts is the use of textures, the addition of the needles placed in the side of the head, and for compositional reasons, the use of the papers and book in the foreground helps focus the attention to the head. I am not to crazy about the candle flame it appears water like or even has a plastic appearance. Finally, the tongue of a dead corpse actually swells up. I feel that it would have added a greater sense of terror for the viewer. Still one of my favorites. ameede@madmac.com ===== From mark_poole2000@yahoo.com: Gross, but entirely appropriate. Head looks real, like the wrinkled brow. The blood-stained notes a nice touch. One of the best images in this round. ===== From robertsc@accn.org: A horrible picture to be sure. Very detailed. ===== From patrickd@netins.net: I like the image overall. The only thing I would comment on would be the candle. The flame doesn't seem as "real" as the rest of the image. ===== From grimmg@hotmail.com: D'ou vient la tete ? ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: This seems to transend mere horror ===== From brendthess@home.com: This is the only image that actually gave me a twinge of *horror* when I first viewed it. Well done! ===== From tina@ripco.com: This is a bit too garish for my tastes. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: Very impressive. The head is fantastic. How did you do it? ===== From ericf@foothill.net: This image feels more gruesome than horrific, but that's my view. The overall composition is solid, and the technical components of the candle flame and the head are very impressive. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: This is one of the most gruesome images in this competition. It is also one of the best. Excellent textures. The metal pan is very good. The candle flame is too big, and also seems to be liquid. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: This one made me laugh, it looks like the mad nail bomber who wanted to test his product before letting it loose on an unsuspecting public. Nice work, at least one person who uses 3DS actually puts textures on the objects, and the textures look good. Suggested improvements, make the the candle stick dull and scratched looking, because beside the shiny tray that holds the head there are too many reflective surfaces in one place. The flame of the candel could maybe do with some work, it looks too big for the candel, just scale it down a bit and maybe make it a bit more orange/dark yellow. ===== From file: The winner of the gross-out award Notable for composition, textures, lighting, modelling ===== From file: Nice work. Though not very original, the modelling, texture and lighting are great. Keep up the good work! ===== From file: Magnificent. Best entry by far. Notable for composition, textures, lighting, modelling, originality ===== From file: Don't invite me over for dinner;) Awesome comp. and modeling. Congrats.
