===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: This is not a bad piece of work. I feel that a small amount of light outside could have helped. Good first effort. Get ready for the next round. ===== From daffyduckx@hotmail.com: The dim but still slightly visible background was a good choice. And those are some great pumpkin faces. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Needs some unique twist to make it horrific. ===== From timk@jtse.com: Cool expressions on the pumpkins' faces. But the scene, overall, is very weak. The setting is unclear. The concept is a cliche at best. The contrast is relatively poor. ===== From dwallace@lynx.dac.neu.edu: This one could have been done better. The lack of texture detail killed it. ===== From tina@ripco.com: Cute carvings. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good job for a first rendering! I know it's supposed to be dark outside, but a dim light source outside the jack-o-lanterns would add a lot of depth to the image by adding more shadows. It would also be good if the candles inside the pumpkins would cast shadows on the ground nearby. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Nice first image Chris. The walls are really flat, they look like brick patterned wallpaper. Can't see the floor, it's not light enough. I'd suggest that you take a look at the code that other people have posted along with their images for this competition, you will no doubt pick up some useful tips, I know I do. ===== From file: Pathetic. There is no other word for it.
