Using a reflection as the centrepiece is a good idea, but I think offsetting
the camera to the side would have made the image look less "flat".

Really nice idea.  But I don't think that cockroaches see in colour.  The
area lights did the trick, maybe could have done with some more just
above the mirror.  I like the candle sticks but think that the way you went
about them was over complicated for the result.
