I like the feel of this piece, I mean I could be there and if I saw this happening I wouldn't run away, I would just hang out and watch. In other words, the environment looks comfortable.  Perhaps it is the bedsheets the ghost are wearing :-}.  The lighthouse fits in very well with the background hills, yet the ground on which the lighthouse sits on is to stark.  It does not fit in with the hills.  The amount of detail in the hills is appropriate for that distance.  If this is accepted then why does the moon show more detail than the hills? I do like the artwork there are smooth transitions between the foreground, middle ground, and background.  Again, the scene appears peaceful.

This picture has some wonderful aspects, the cool tones, restrained use of 
texture, the tactile effect of the fence points in the forground, and the 
subtle shock of the cross juxtaposed with the moon-reflection.

This is a pretty well done scene, especially the hand coming from the ground.  The only quibble I have is the lighthouse.  I couldn't figure out what the 'ring' around it was, until I realized it was the reflection of the lighthouse in the water.  Somehow it just didn't look right.
