===== From cyberjoe@cytanet.com.cy: I am personally a very big fan of dark images but this is slightly darker that I would like it to be. ===== From cdsi26@bupers.navy.mil: Good story and entertaining image. Perhaps one more light. Had trouble making some of the items out. ===== From timk@jtse.com: Very poor contrast. Even after reading the description, I can't tell what I'm looking at. Nice textures. And a great setting. There's so, so much that could be done with lighting and character. Ervin. How frustrating... ===== From ameede@madmac.com: Your attention to detail is excellent. The angle of viewing is powerful, it leads me right down, from object to object, to the background where I see a ball of somekind. I am not particularly fond of its placement, I do not know if it is a part of something, or if it is an element all on its own. If it is a single element, then raising it up would have relaxed the tension between object and object. Finally, the hand placed within a large foreground is too small, perhaps the attachment of an arm? This would have helped me actually see it, and also strengthened your compositional reading. Kind of like what you did with the paperwork in the foreground. Great work nevertheless. ameede@madmac.com ===== From mark_poole2000@yahoo.com: The building and space are great, but I had to look hard to try to understand what was going on. The clipboard and hand (?) could have been closer to the camera. I never could make out the bent bars of the cage; it could have been made more noticable. Maybe some lights in the fish tanks would have made those easier to spot, too. The atmosphere of this scene is very good. ===== From robertsc@accn.org: This would be a good image if it were lighted better. ===== From patrickd@netins.net: I like the look of the dungeon, but I don't get any sense of horror. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: I found the use of color delicate and appealing. There is a rich luminosity to this dark scene ===== From tina@ripco.com: I like the lighting and the textures in this scene. ===== From rbenjam2@tampabay.rr.com: The scene is too dark. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: The image has a nice 'real' feel to it, artistically and technically I think it is well done. I had a hard time seeing the story of the image. It looks like all the 'cages' are empty. I think it would have worked better if there occupants in all but the one. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: The modelling is intricate, and the textures are complex, but these work against you here. The bent bars, blood, and hand are lost in a sea of complexity. I would never have picked them out without reading your text file. Stronger lighting which highlights key objects in the foreground would help. How about sunlight streaming in from small windows high overhead? Otherwise, really a fine effort. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Really good image, the walls look fantastic. A few changes could have improved this, the floor looks a bit flat and you would expect it to have much more depth. I took the liberty of rerendering this with some ambient light added and you guessed it, the render time almost doubled, but the image is so much better, you can now see those fish tanks, (maybe a small light in each one), and the ceiling which had previously been a black void. Yes I think I'll rerender with a very low light in each fish tank tonight just to see what happens. Keep up the good work.
