Minimalism I like in a work.  But I am wondering if the artist asks the question, what is the necessary element in a horror situation.  The artist states this in his description, and points this out (no pun intended) in the artwork. But my concern is more directed towards the elements of design (line, color, shape, texture, value etc...) and especially composition, how the elements are layed out in the work to complete the reading.  I liked the bare bones approach in this piece, the cultural aspects that go into it ( the figure I believe is Aztec, or is it Mayan?).  The only thing that kills me about the piece is you only see the front of the hero, and not the back.  The image reminds me of a single frame for an animation. Finally, there are no examples of what might happen to him if the hero actually does get caught.  Some other unfortunate hero should be laid to waste in the piece.

I so totally don't get this image. It reminds me of the kinds of things
that would come with a lego set these days -- that's not an insult insofar
as your ability to model is concerned; I am impressed by the items.

This image almost looks too cute to be classified 'horror'.  Most likely it's because of a lack of elements to tell the story fully.
