===== From chris@bluelectrode.com: Beautiful, but a fruit-bearing tree on an inner-city sidewalk? Only in Spain I guess;) One of my top ten. A Definite winner. ===== From clintona@ibm.net: I love the lighting and bricks! A good dark alley type scene. ===== From trioker@wanadoo.fr: An outstanding realism for a such masterpiece. According to me, this deserves the first place. What can I add ? All my sinceers congratulations for your great talent. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Wonderful detail of the stone work, a great sense of realism. A bit dark for my monitor, but that is its nature I know. ===== From YaelParis@operamail.com: This one is REALLY good! I like all the "defaults" you included in the pavement and the wall it looks real !!! ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: This picture is so amazingly textured that I had to give you high marks for Technical merit. ===== From tom@tomandlu.force9.co.uk: Lost some points for off-topic - although I'm wondering if I'm being unfair (no, I see from your comments you realise this also) - but otherwise a beautiful image, particularily some of the textures. ===== From ameede@madmac.com: I think the isolated tree combined with the night theme is excellent, especially when placed within the city. So many images created by artist who use a single tree to represent an existentialist opinion are usually found in open fields or on the top of mountains, etc... I could pull out alot of symbolism from your artwork, and it is easy for me to connect with it considering the types of lifes interests I have. So for me this art piece is very successful. ameede@madmac.com ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Holly ray ! Sorry, there, for the swear word and sensible ears, but I had to. That is the first image I view and I have to say it is a very impressive one. How can I see the rest with any higher expectations ? It is now pretty well know that J.V.P. is a high class POV artist, he (you) should probably be thinking of taking this up on a professional basis (if not done already). After a quick run through all submissions, this round appears to be of very high quality all round, still this picture stands out along very few others. What is so nice about it is the amount of detail, people who say that computer generated images look too clean, too unrealistic, should review their statement and come and appreciate Jaimes' art. Please keep submitting your art to the IRTC, it is really fantastic and may motivate other POV users (such as myself) to achieve high quality, after all it is possible, but I fear to imagine the amount of work put into such a piece and that in itself may put off some potentially good artists. So lad, you get the highest Tech mark one can ever get ... that's because everything in this picture looks so perfectly real. Next you get a near to impossible artistic mark, just because I am so impressed and the scene looks so well crafted (in the artistic sense as well as the technical one), not the top mark though because I want to leave a bit of room should I find one better runner in those lines. Alos I would not have put that tree as much in the centre as it is, I know it is slightly offset to the left, but I would have put it a little more to the left still. Now to the concept, although I also give you a next to impossibly high mark there I was disappointed to see you did not feel this was a garden and yet you submitted this. Now you should have made yourself a better advocate for your picture. This IS a real garden, this is the only piece of greenery (or some like) that so many people can afford to see for the major part of their daily lives (sometimes by choice, sometimes not), so why disqualify yourself saying this may not be the real concept of a garden ? I hope this will teach you to be a better advocate next time - cause if you aren't, you'll still leave room for someone to take over from you, whereas if you are, you'll simply be so much higher above the rest (of us) ! Just to continue with praise, I call this mastery. OK, now I know the end result for the votes (mine of course) : three of you get an equal total of point well above the others (for me anyway) and you are one of them. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Nice one, as usual. But I still think that there should be no black hole swallowing all the light in front of the tree, and that this is not exactly a garden ;-) ===== From albiaprime@aol.com: Technical - very good attention to detail, the lighting is perfect! Artistic - a very nice study! Theme - a few flowers at the base of the tree would have made it look like a 'lonely urban garden' ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: A very moody piece, well executed. The brickwork and paving are excellent. The attention to detail really shows with the loose wiring on the wall and the litter on the ground. The glow of the light looks perfect. There's nothing I can add to this - really brilliant work.
