Great image. My only criticism is the color scheme is kinda weird, but still a
very nice image

A bit too busy for me, I don't know where to focus my
attention. This reminds me of the Dick and Jane house
in Ellensburg WA. USA. There is a lot of nice detail
work in this image.

Gave you a very high mark on cencept. I laughed, I cried. This is by far the
most orignal entry that still qualifies as ruins.

From marlo.steed@uleth.ca:

Nice concept and nicely executed.

From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com:
Very strange, novel and perfectly valid concept.
Very nice achievement.

From jouni@mikrobitti.fi:
Good job you did, Claire! The image is fine, but it bugged me seriously
at first. The house and its surroundings are a bit too colorful, if not
outright gaudy. Without reading the text file, the real details (ruins)
are hard to find in the image. Thus a bit of score drops there, but hey,
there's a damn lot of good in here. I hope they don't have houses like
that where you live :-)

From StephenF@whoever.com:
This is the kind of picture I would hang on my wall. A
good use of cheery colors, but still looks dilapidated due
to the peeling paint and missing boards. The concept is
really cool... I love the idea of the smaller ruins replicas
created from the house itself. Beautiful!

From jaime@ctav.es:
What a strange idea! Not bad, only *very* strange, but interesting and funny.
Very detailed, perhaps too, but that's part of the theme. Hard work!

From clem@dhol.org:
Brilliant concept, excellent execution, artistically
outstanding. Easily the winner on my ballot. Excels in the
details that make or break this sort of image. The bucket
and other detritus in the yard, along with the beautiful
weathered paint suggest that the artist has either
abandoned all mundane matters in pursuit of his project or
has just stopped caring. The remains of previous artistic
endeavors help greatly in telling the story. The dirt on the
steps is an indication of attention to detail. The
deteriorating shingles are another good touch, as is the
hint of an actual interior visible through the windows. The
tarpaper(?) under the missing siding is a bit too clean. A
cracked window, or perhaps a missing pane replaced with
cardboard and maybe an anemic weed or two might have
been nice. The sky seems a bit wrong (blue patches feel
like polka dots), but that is trivial. The geodesics aren't
really visible as such and the baskets suffer a bit at this
resolution. The shiny balls on the house could maybe use
a bit of weathering, but I don't know how well it would show
up at this size. This image reminds me of the Heidelberg
Project. The work of a Detroit artist, he took an old house
and festooned it with old shoes, dolls and too many other
things to list. The artist called it an artistic creation and an
attention and dollar attracting asset to the area. Two city
administrations called it an eyesore. Community opinion
was mixed. The city recently won the ongoing battle and
promptly dismantled it.

From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au:
This is really quite a neat image. The inclusion of models of many earthly
ruins is clever, amidst the backdrop of a house itself falling inro ruin.
The modelling here is just amazing. I didn't like this image at first... I
think the overwhelming dark green colour somehow struck me the wrong way.
But looking more closely it's obvious how much thought and effort have been
put into it. I'm not sure what I can suggest to make this any better, except
maybe not so much green! :-) Oh, and the tree leaves (which are brilliant)
could be slightly different colours.

From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk:
Text file too long. I stoped reading when I got to the list of ruins
because I didn't want to spoil the surprise of discovering them in the
image for myself, you could have mentioned that there were images there
without naming any.
This really is a beautiful image and so much work has gone into it.
The one possibl area for improvement would be the ground directly infront
of the camera is a bit too dark, it draws the eyes of the viewer down and
there's not much there but soil. Please keep the text file much shorter
than this, I want to read it but there are so many images to judge and
only so much time to do it in.
