===== From ekaiser@camden.tds.net: cool image screams for radiosity ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: Cool concept. I like kids toys. (TMI?) ===== From english@spiritone.com: I wish I had blocks this when I was a kid. Very cool and nostalgic for me ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: I certainly enjoyed that one, and even more with the text. Very good. ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: Hmm, wonder if it's just my monitor or did the image have something wrong in it? Had to use gamma factor of 1.4 to get any details out of the picture. Some JPEG artifacts are also visible. You could've used that 100 kB you had on you to enhance the image quality. But to the point: Nice modelling, although I would've liked to see the aqueduct-style "building" a bit closer, as it's the only object in the scene that has even some interesting details. Lego blocks are so small, that their delicacies are not visible for where they stand now. Agreed, the floor is a mess which is probably the message you tried to send. ;-) Maybe a little fewer objects and shown from a closer range could've been enough? Such a detailed background requires quite perfect object placement to let the details show. Some overkill shadows in the foreground, by the way. You have to have a light fairly low to have a 4x2 Lego block cast a shadow double as long as the block itself :-) ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: The blocks and sofa look good, and I like the idea of having the pictures of various ruins on the walls. The lampshade looks like it could use a little work, and the bands of bright light on the righthand side seem a bit distracting to me. Overall, a very solid effort. ===== From deathmacabre@fcmail.com: i like the subtle points, they add to the picture ===== From clem@dhol.org: Interesting idea but it needed more toys and more chaos to really come across. The image is also much too dark on my monitor. It required far more gamma correction than any other entry to really see the details. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Very clever concept - I epecially like the pictures of ruins on the walls and the Stonehenge replica made of the blocks. This is a nice homely scene. The only real suggestions I have are to make the lighting and modelling a bit more complex. The light does not look realistic, especially the lampshade. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: There's a great feel to this image, as I've mentioned above it reminds me of my 3 yr old nephew. The image maps on the wall are a nice touch and aren't too obvious and over powering. Lego is the plural of Lego, there's no 'S' on the end. Nice work. One or two pieces of Lego under the chair on the right might be an added realistic touch. ===== From file: Notable for composition, textures
