===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: Just too clean. Needs some dirt on the items or color variation. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice image... nice overall feel.... ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yeah, yeah. ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: Not bad at all! A rather dark image, as you said, so the details don't come out very well. The building on the right seems totally unscathed, even its windows reflect rather brightly. Obviously life could survive in one of these cities after all :-) Good atmosphere you've worked into this one. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: There's a nice feeling of desolation to this one (mainly due to the use of "drab" colors, I think), and I like the use of small details (the skull, bear, and tarot card) to reinforce the theme. The broken plaster on the left wall looks great, but at the same time, it makes the other brick walls look simple by comparison. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Nice details. Good work on ther floor. I only see a lack of shadows. I know it's a cloudy day, but some soft shadows would helped to better perceive depth. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Nice image. I had to really crank the gamma to see any detail. That may hurt your score with some judges. I like the junk in the alley, but it should be even messier. The plaster is good. The card and the bear (doesn't Peter Murray have a patent on bears? :) ) are nice ironic touches. The skull might be better if it were more prominent. The bricks in the street might be better piled haphazardly than laid out so neatly. The corrugated iron is very nice. The city skyline should really show some "broken teeth" and gaps and there should be signs of burned out fires in the scene. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Yes, it's very dark - I needed to do a gamma adjustment to see anything. But when I did... this is a well done image. The composition is good, and there is a good variety of objects and textures. The city blocks in the background work well. The biggest problem I think is that everything looks so clean... there is no dirt or grime at all on some objects, especially on the bricks. The tarot card is a nice touch, and I'm impressed by anyone who can get MS Access to do what they want! ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Great looking image, some real atmosphere to it. I had to gamma correct this before being able to see the objects in the foreground. Nice teddy bear. That building on the left looks asthough they've just had new window frames fitted, hope they've got an understanding insurance man. The building on the left is good. The building accross the road on the left doesn't seem to have any (or enough) contrast in colour between the frontand back, I'm sure that this is a lighting thing, maybe too much ambient, I havn't checked the code.
