JPGFILE: citylife.jpg ZIPFILE: citylife.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.1g for Windows 95/98/NT TOOLS USED: Poser2, Keith Rule's Wcvt2pov, Lview Pro for jpeg conversion and copyright and the POV editor RENDER TIME: 23hr 10min HARDWARE USED: generic Pentium-III 450 w/ 256 MB RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image shows contrasting city life styles. The scene is from the alley behind an apartment building. While the people inside are living the "good life", the homeless Vet outside is spending the night in a large cardboard box. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Construction of the image is simple CSG with some height fields. I used POV to create the height fields for the bricks and the cobble stone alley surface. Photostyler was used to crop these height fields so I could tile them. I added another height field above the cobblestones with some holes to give the effect of broken and worn asphalt. The mortar for the bricks is a thin box behind the brick height fields. The legs and feet for the homeless Vet are Poser objects converted to POV triangles with Wcvt2pov. I was really late with this entry so I am just including my POV code and it is pretty ugly.
